Questions answered by a Surrey General Contractor

We compiled a list of questions our clients most frequently ask us. If you don’t find the answer here, give us a call at 604.862.9379.

Q: What areas do you work in?
A: We prefer to work in the communities of Langley, Surrey, South Surrey and White Rock.

Q: What is your rate?
A: Most of our jobs are quoted on a per project basis as the cost is dependent on the amount of labour/time required to complete the job. For smaller handyman type jobs our hourly rate is $60 with a four hour minimum.

Q: How does the payment process work?
A: Currently we accept cash or cheque as a form of payment. We require a 25% deposit upon confirming the job, a further 25% payment at the project’s halfway point and the remaining balance is due upon completion of the job.

Q: Will you come and give me an estimate at no charge?
A: Many contractors are starting to charge for quotes, however, we continue to come to your home to view the project and give you a written quote an no charge.

Q: Do you hire sub-contractors to do part of the work?
A: Yes, we do hire sub-contractors to complete some of the work such as electrical and plumbing. All our sub-contractors are licensed and ticketed tradesmen.

Q: If you get hurt while working at my home, am I responsible?
A: No, you are not. We are covered with our own liability and WCB insurance.

Q: Can I supply some or all of the materials for my project?
A: Yes, you can supply your own materials for your project. However, it is best to wait until we’ve reviewed the project together and decide on specifics. It also must be available and on the job site when needed.

Q: Can I help with the job?
A: While we are happy to have you do the demolition prior to the start of the project, once the work has begun, it is more efficient and cost effective for us to do the work on our own.

Q: Will you work on nights or weekend?
A: Our priority is to get the job done on time, so when necessary, we will work during the evenings or on weekends.
